About Me

I’m Maria Manifava, and I offer online counselling in a calm and supportive space where you can talk openly about what feels difficult, without pressure to explain yourself neatly or have things figured out.

Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years working in higher education and wellbeing support, where I listened people talk about pressure, responsibility, uncertainty, and the quieter struggles that are often carried alone.

Alongside this, I have experience working with people who are caring for others, often while managing their own emotional needs quietly in the background. I’m mindful of how caring roles can shape identity, bring exhaustion or guilt, and quietly reduce the space available for reflection or support. In my work, I try to make room for the carer as a person in their own right, not only in relation to others.

Having lived and worked between Greece and Britain, I’m mindful of how language, culture, and a sense of belonging can shape how we see ourselves. I’m attentive to the experience of feeling different or out of place, and to how this can quietly affect confidence, relationships, and self-worth.

If you’d like to know more about how I work, you can find that on the How I Work page.
